15th June (Tuesday)
We took the 9.10am train from Salzburg and arrived at Vienna train station at 12.30pm. From there it is a short walking distance to Hostel Ruthensteiner which cost 14 Euros a night. We will be staying there for 2 nights.
After we have settled in, we are now ready to explore Vienna city. At the city centre is St Stephen Cathedral.
It is truly a large cathedral. The interiors are equally impressive.
We walked around the area and came upon St Peter Church. The architecture of this church is pretty special.
We visited the gardens. Here is a gold plated statue of Mozart.
We got back to Stephen Cathedral and decided to catch a concert tonight. There are many people selling tickets for concerts around Vienna. We settled for the Hofburg Opera which cost 25 Euros.
16th June (Wednesday)
We took the metro to Schonberg Palace. It was drizzling slightly when we got there. The palace tour cost 8.60 Euro.
By the afternoon the sun came up and we were able to catch a beautiful shot of it.
The palace grounds are equally large.
There is a beautiful garden at the back of the palace where visitors can take a leisurely stroll through it.
Here is our group photo (Si Yu is the photographer so he is not in)
17th June (Thursday)
On this day, we split into a few groups as we decided to visit a few sights separately. I will be travelling with Si Yu. So we decided to visit the Jewish museum first to learn about the Jewish religion in Judisches Museum Wier. Here is the Jewish memorial.
Thereafter we took the U-Bahm to UNO City. Upon arrival, we found out it is actually United Nations City. It is an independent city from Wien.
Here are all the countries' flag.
Where all the countries' representatives conduct their meeting. 6 main international languages are used in the discussions, they are English, French, Russian, Spanish, Chinese and Arabic.
Here is our guide. The tour group consist only of me and Si Yu. The Vienna UNO consists of the IAEA and deep space exploration. UNO can also be found in Geneva and Nairobi.
We left Vienna at night for a overnight train to Krakow. The train departs at 9.55pm. It has sleepers carriage, so we can hole in it for the night.
